Transcript: I believe that some strengths in my product are; the actors, the actors preformed brilliantly, Imogen especially, I believed that they all gave a very convincing performance which make the piece profoundly better. An other strength would be the directing, as I believe that I was forceful enough to get people to do what I asked without protest. In addition I believe that the camera shot were well taken and add to the sequence. Further more I am proud of the sound, not necessarily the quality of audio but it works.
Throughout my sequence I used sound, in certain situations the volume gets louder. For example when the girl is having the attack the heart beat grows louder with the increasing fear, the same is for the laughing, as she is feeling more stressed the laughing get s louder. this use of non-diegetic sound helps us to see things from her perspective, helps us to enter her world.
The heartbeats add to the suspense and comes in at a good time, overall it works well to make my piece better. As for the effects I believe that they work really well, the lighting is ideal in contrast on my visual effect but the special effect turned out well, also the change in colour from normal to blue make the sequence so much better and I believe it was executed nicely.
On the other hand I am aware of the faults. For example, when I was tracking my actress the camera was quite shaky, this does not necessarily make the piece worse but it does not add to it. In addition the angle of this shot is not ideal and if I could do it again I would definitely make sure that it was right. An other issue is that in my visual effect part my actresses feet were cut off, this is a minor problem because it is quite distracting and takes away from how realistic it could be. As for the comparison of my current video and how I had originally expected it to be is minor. For example I had planned for mmm main character to be male, this obviously didn’t happen because the actor I had a seed was busy at this time. with this in mind I think that I works just as well with a female actress. In addition I had hoped that the actual panic attack scenes themselves would have been longer however the time slot I had for filming was restricted which meant that I was only able to film the bulk of the attack. An other difference was that I had hoped to film in a different bigger class room with more “students.” However the class room wasn’t free and nor were my actors. In addition I had hoped for the teacher to have glasses and be old, however I am very pleased with how the sequence turned out. Upon reflection I am proud of what I was able to achieve given the circumstances. More over, this same process reacts with the colour and make up. As she becomes more stressed because of the laughter there is more sweats, which I did using a pipette by dripping water onto her face. also the scene gets darker and more monochrome are the panic attack goes on. In addition her setting is apart through out the sequence for example she is constantly marginalised, for example at the start she is sat at the side, this shows that she is an outcast. this is shown again when she is shrinking in the corner of the class room.
