GENERATE IDEAS FOR A NEW INTERACTIVE MEDIA PRODUCT FOR A CLIENT BRIEF
My app is going to be produced for people who wish to visit the City of Cambridge so they may gain information about the city and upcoming events. it will also advise the user of some places to visit. The app will be interactive for the user and will be available in the app store and could also be modified to an information kiosk.
An information kiosk helps to suggest places to visit and activities to do. These could range from night life to punting events. My apps will predominately give information to tourists on places to visit, eat and drink in the city. This is all very helpful if you're new to Cambridge and don't know your way around or what to do.
The interactive features of my app will be a map Cambridge, a form and finally a quiz that will help to test your knowledge of the city.
Purpose: My app will help people find places to visit in Cambridge this will help to increase the users knowledge of Cambridge city and what they can be involved in within their community. the app will also see help people find out what new fun things are going to arise in the city, keeping the user up to date with all activities in their community meaning that as a tourist the party will never stop and as a current member of the community they will find out about things happening near them they may not have necessarily known about before. The app will do this by sending notification to your email of upcoming event. Moreover there will be a quiz in which actively provokes the use to interact with their surroundings.
Clients needs: The client for my app is Cambridgeshire city council. The clients needs are to raise the towns profile on the web, I will achieve this by adding information about enrichment events and companies in the city. The client has asked for information on events I will provide this by adding events page that clearly links to some of the key events within Cambridge city centre. To raise the profile of Cambridge on the Internet I will include images from copyright free source that allows me to show off the positive aspects of Cambridge and also sure its historical content. The client has also asked that a source of information from locals about what events are happening in the area be included I will make sure that the events page mentioned above does this. In order to facilitate the clients needs I suggest that perhaps we move away from the kiosk idea as this does not allow us to give the user and experience they are not in Cambridge a lot of people who come to Cambridge like to plan what they're doing in advance therefore the best method of this is to use more 21st-century technology and downloaded as an app from the App Store. we'll make this free of charge and therefore no cost Will be incurred by the user. This app will appeal to tourists because of the aforementioned pictures it will also show all the latest events for a wide variety of each groups it will also including interactive maps of people not get lost and it may even gave some helpful hints and tips about what to do when visiting. It will include all the latest information about Cambridge and can be easily updated by the council as an way required. I will also include some information on the best places to shop and might find them.
Target Audience: The target audience for my app will most likely will be Will be university students at the age of 30. Because there is a wide range of ethnic groups in Cambridge there maybe a language barrier so the language used will be very simple in the respect that it will be predominately imagery rather than text. As someone who is dyslexic is much easier for the form myself as the user when there is less text because it makes the app much harder to follow where images make it clear and obvious what you're talking about. Because my target audience is predominantly be students therefore they're more like they are more likely to be in a couple.
Imaginary entity: My imaginary entity is a female student by the name of Amy she is aged aged 20 she has she is doing a Cambridge veterinary diploma at Cambridge University she enjoys outdoor activities like cycling walking running and sightseeing. She is also into photography and enjoys going out partying. Amy is a very friendly person and she has a very large friendship group. As Amy is doing a letter Mary course at Cambridge she is an extremely organised person therefore she likes to plan force goes out up my app will be very helpful to her as she can plan her route and what places you want to go to and how closel they are to each other before she sets off so that she knows what she's getting into.
Target audience needs: My target audience will require in the app to be easy to use simple to read and view. This is because my Target audience is not only people from England also people from different countries therefore they may have a language barrier in addition there are many people across the country who have dyslexia therefore within easy-to-use view and read app more people will all be drawn to it. The layout of my app is also very important because if it is all over the place and there are too many images this will cloud the vision of the user and they will not want to use it the app will be overshadowed. This is why I'm going to be using predominantly pastel colours so that they do not attacked in the eyes of the user. This will make up much easier to use and will help to calm the users so that they are stressed out about their day or evening.
Content ideas: My App will be interactive. There will be three interactive features on my app and an information page. The first interactive feature will be the map, this map will be of Cambridge you will be able to pinpoint places you may want to go insane and what places neither. The second interactive feature will be the form, on the form you can feel in your email this will then send notifications to you as to when up and coming events are happening in Cambridge. And finally the last interactivity will be a quiz specific to Cambridge. In The quiz will question the user on came on things in Cambridge it will possibly encourage people to go and visit new places that they may not have seen but seen on the quiz or encourage them to find out more information about the places they have been.
Format: The app will be distributed on the Apple store, this means that it will only be available to Apple products. We have chosen the Apple Store to distribute our app because it is readily available and a lots of people use Apple products. The product will be distributed on the as an app because it is more modern and more commonly used by the target audience we are not making the product web available because information kiosks are not used as much as apps in the modern era.
Platform budget: Some costs involved in making the app that I will need to consider will be copyrights four example if I am using the the photographs or videos off the Internet I will need to make sure that they I'll properly credited and that I am not liable for any copyright infringements. Moreover I will need to make sure that I am not not sharing anybody's personal information and keeping to the data protection act. In addition I will I will make sure that I am not being to discriminating anybody, because this would be defamation of character which can also lead to a lawsuit if anybody complains. As I am not a big corporate company I will not be able to afford a lawsuit and it will not just be a minor thing so I will need to make sure that I follow these guidelines carefully so that I am not in any legal trouble.

Accessibility-how will be using you access the app? My apple be very easy to use and access with its clear structure. Four example that harms what it are clearly labelled and match to their pages, who meaning that you can access all tabs and the home screen at any given time. The user will download the app from the App Store for free, the Apple only be accessible on the iOS store this is because it is cheaper and can be easily access and distributed on other Apple products. Another benefit from it being a accessible on the Apple Store is that Apple users are familiar with apps already therefore it will be easier for them to use. There will be an app icon on the users home screen and then it will take them to launch screen and then further into the homepage way all of the tabbed options are.
Interactivity-what are the interactive parts of the app? When you first open the app it opens onto the home screen then along the bottom of the page there will be different tab options with different features.
Map - The map will be is simple to use and easy to navigate the user will be able to interact with the map and Zoom in and out see positions on the map and word to go they will be able to pin locations and see the fastest roots. . The map is important because they help show user their locations and where they need to go this is a vital for my app because it is a travel map meaning it will be used predominantly by tourists.
Form - In the form my users will need to fill in is simply an email. Filling in your email woman enable the app to send are you notifications as soon as new events coming up and what's happening in the city. This is important so that my users can stay up-to-date without having to check the app and making basis and they will have a record of what events are coming.
Events page - and the events page for showing monthly upcoming events in Cambridge city centre. It will give you information on who you can contact to find out more about the events and links to the websites so that you can look at them in more detail. For example the Cambridge strawberry fair. This gives the user easy access to the events up-and-coming in Cambridge.
Commercial considerations Some commercial considerations I will need to factor will be sponsorship for my app. I will shall sponsored by having their logo in the corner of the launch screen. A company that will benefit from my up could be The Cambridge corn exchange, this is because the app clearly shows up-and-coming events in the Cambridge area as the corn exchange hosts a large number of these events they would benefit largely from the easy access to their events. As they will be shown on the launch cream this will create a awareness of the Cambridge corn exchange meaning that they will get a higher revenue stream especially if it links to their website. Another company that could benefit from this are cinemas in Cambridge, for example the light cinema. How way to entice the audience members from the apt to the light cinema would be by creating vouchers for example 10% off any screening using a code which will be linked on the app. Some organisations can benefit from the quiz as it will raise awareness of the places history and other information enticing people to find out more.
Graphical user interface (GUI) When creating a graphical user interface need to make sure that it Is easily understandable for a large audience. I will need to make sure that my app is easy to use has a simple design and that the icons off you will be easily seen on a small screen. This simple local need to be replicated throughout the entirety of the app.
Icons I have done some research some icons that have a simple design and are copyright free so that my user can see them clearly.
