Who is the audience?
I believe the audience for this particular music video would be 15-21 year olds with low incomes and big dreams. Moreover based on the tune and aesthetic of the video I would say that it is more aimed at women. This is because women tend to be drawn to upbeat romantic music. However with element of technology and the fact that the singers are male then perhaps young males could be interested in the video and music as well. |

Who is the audience?
‘I, Daniel Blake’ has an older audience, 25 - 50 this is because the main character is much older and the topics are more mature and hard-hitting. Themes that would only relate to this demographic like money issues, finding jobs, looking after your kids, being on benefits. These are all things that older people tend to tackle so they would relate more to the film in that way. |
What is the structure?
The structure of the music video is a deep narrative story about slavery based on the film Django unchanged. It starts with location establishing shots of locations and introduces the artist ‘J. Cole’ and then moves into the narrative of slavery. as the music builds so does the story and it follows the theme of the Django film. This is good because it has a good story to follow and with the modern aspects of the song and the backwards narrative of the acceptance of slavery it fights the views of oppression in modern day. |
